    Chatbot v0.2.0

    What is new in plain terms

    • You can now test provider connections before saving and list available models directly from settings.
    • OpenRouter support has been added to model discovery.
    • Self-hosting got much easier with Docker + VPS deployment guides, example compose files, and install scripts.
    • Server configuration is safer and clearer with explicit CORS settings and configurable SSL SANs.
    • Packaging and startup behavior were improved so distributed builds are more complete and server runtime is more reliable in service mode.

    User-facing improvements

    Better provider setup workflow

    • Added a "Test Connection" action in provider settings, including loading/disabled-save states while the test runs.
    • Added a "List Models" action so you can fetch available models from configured providers.
    • Added backend APIs and UI wiring for both features (client + server + shared API models).
    • Added support for model discovery via OpenAI, Ollama, and now OpenRouter.

    Compatibility improvements

    • OpenAI model parsing now tolerates missing created fields, improving compatibility with OpenAI-compatible providers (for example, Gemini-style responses).

    Self-hosting and deployment improvements

    • Added a new deploy/ area with:
      • Docker and Docker Compose examples for server and Caddy
      • LAN/VPS example configurations
      • installation scripts for server and WASM client
      • step-by-step Docker/VPS deployment documentation
    • Updated startup/bootstrap behavior so default config files are copied from bundled resources when missing.
    • Reduced script duplication by moving config bootstrap logic into the application runtime.

    Security and reliability

    • Added a dedicated credential decryption failure error path to distinguish undecryptable secrets from missing credentials.
    • CORS is now explicitly configured via validated origin settings instead of permissive host defaults.
    • SSL certificates can now include configured SAN DNS/IP entries, with validation and tests.
    • Fixed non-interactive/server-mode termination behavior (graceful SIGTERM handling and proper service lifetime).
    • Fixed env-mapping merge behavior so empty substituted objects/arrays no longer override valid base config.

    Build and packaging

    • installDist now cleans previous output first to avoid stale distribution artifacts.
    • Distributable generation now includes default config and platform launch scripts as a complete runnable package.

    Docs and project housekeeping

    • Added GitHub issue templates.
    • Updated project docs/TODOs and deployment guidance.
